Weavers, sculptors and gardeners may enjoy experimenting with cut willow branches.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APRIL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Millennium Green AGM in April is open to the public.\u00a0 We encourage you to share suggestions and comments with the Trustees at this time.<\/p>\n<p>Re-seeding the wild flowers.\u00a0 In 2013, Mr. Olly White&#8217;s Class 2 pupils from Thorverton Primary School gathered in the Millennium Green to reseed the wild flower area. \u00a0Over 23 students watched Gillian Bathe mix native seeds and butterfly-attracting seeds with sand and explain how to rake and then broadcast the them over the planting area. \u00a0The students listened attentively, flinging and raking with great gusto. \u00a0In a month or two, they returned to the site to see which seeds have flourished.<\/p>\n<p><strong>JUNE<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_593\" style=\"width: 174px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"\/thorverton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Family-Fun-archery.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[122]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-593\" class=\"wp-image-593\" src=\"\/thorverton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Family-Fun-archery-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"Family Fun-archery\" width=\"164\" height=\"92\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pinwood.uk\/thorverton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Family-Fun-archery-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pinwood.uk\/thorverton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Family-Fun-archery-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/pinwood.uk\/thorverton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Family-Fun-archery-624x351.jpg 624w, https:\/\/pinwood.uk\/thorverton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Family-Fun-archery.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 164px) 100vw, 164px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-593\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Archery on the Millennium Green.<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Family Fun Day<\/em> takes place on both the Memorial Hall grounds and the Millennium Green. There is hot and cold food and a bar. Entertainment include includes such activities as live music and singing, a children&#8217;s dance workshop, homecrafts competition, stalls, bouncy castle, duck fishing, coconut shy, Kirton archers and a climbing wall plus a dog show and dog hurdling (open entry), skittles and welly wanging. \u00a0Free entry, most activities are \u20a41.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"\/thorverton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Peacock-Butterfly-Larvae.jpeg\" rel=\"lightbox[122]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-690\" src=\"\/thorverton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Peacock-Butterfly-Larvae-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"Peacock Butterfly Larvae\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><em><br \/>\nThorverton School Art and N<\/em><em>ature Event <\/em>was organized for the Thorverton Primary School children.\u00a0 With the assistance of Jennie Garne, Thorverton&#8217;s resident naturalist, moths, beetles, butterflies and two types of larva were identified along with a mature grass snake.\u00a0 Paintings and drawings by the children were the culmination of this event.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>JULY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"\/thorverton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Comma-Butterfly.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[122]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-590\" src=\"\/thorverton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Comma-Butterfly-300x237.jpg\" alt=\"Comma Butterfly\" width=\"160\" height=\"127\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pinwood.uk\/thorverton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Comma-Butterfly-300x237.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pinwood.uk\/thorverton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Comma-Butterfly-1024x809.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/pinwood.uk\/thorverton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Comma-Butterfly-624x493.jpg 624w, https:\/\/pinwood.uk\/thorverton\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Comma-Butterfly.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 160px) 100vw, 160px\" \/><\/a>&#8220;Moth Trapping&#8221;, on the Thorverton Millennium Green is an evening event. Come along and see what moths are attracted to the moth trap.\u00a0 \u00a0Two Elephant Hawkmoths were the highlight of trapping one year. resulting in more well-manicured seating and viewing areas as seen on the left.\u00a0 Bring your secateurs and a lunch for about 1-2 hours of work.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><a name=\"guidance\"><\/a>Event Guidance<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Events that do not require closing any part of the\u00a0Green for access by the public and which are appropriate are usually welcome. The\u00a0Trustees need to be consulted because they are responsible for safety of others and\u00a0assessment of appropriateness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Trustees can occasionally give permission for\u00a0Events requiring exclusion of the public from part of the Green (but not the public\u00a0footpath) particularly if they are in some way of advantage to the Green.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Please use the\u00a0email form on this site to contact the trustees.
